Extension activities:

Extension activities in sensitizing students to social issues and holistic development.

The college promotes good relations with neighborhood community through extension activities and other programs for the betterment of society and to inculcate the social responsibility among the students. We feel extremely proud to host events which aim at contributing and bringing a positive change in the society. We hope to have helped spread awareness about substance abuse, an issue that our society and the youth face today. The institute believes that such events and causes provide student a healthy education. “The social sector is certainly something we have always given priority to and therefore we like to sensitize students to issues around them. To sensitize the students to social issues and holistic development in the neighborhood communities following activities are done during the last five years

  • Village Adoption by National service scheme (NSS):

NSS extension activities are conducted every year in a particular village for doing social services, cleaning and greening, Survey of village, awareness programme and rallies to develop the social services and responsibilities among the students and to understand the community needs. The NSS volunteers of the institution have adopted neighboring villages called Inambari and Devgaon and Zillah Parishad elementary school in this villages. The management extends financial help, academic programs and social services. The water supply pipeline was completed for Z. P. School, Storage of water to animals and road repairing and cleanness activity and survey of Inambari village. In Devgaon village cleanness and plastic waste management, Road repairing and Bio-diversity survey was adapted.NSS volunteers Street plays dealing with social issues ranging from women’s rights to farmers. These ‘nukkad nataks’ are mostly a result of dramatics clubs in the colleges. The plays are not just about spreading the message to the public, but also to educate the students.

  • Health care activities:

To promote the health and wellness of the neighborhood community, health care activities has been conducted in the college. With help of Blood Banks students extend their help towards developing healthy life styles by donating blood to all the needy people and by promoting the regular voluntary blood donation. Yoga and meditation is practiced in the campus to create a calm mind, good concentration, improved communication, better clarity, relaxation and rejuvenation of the mind and body.

  • Awareness and holistic development Programs:

Awareness programs are conducted by conducting rallies in relation to anti-drug, road safety, right for vote, rainwater harvesting, electricity saving, tree plantation, save tree and save water etc. The college is coeducational institution sensitizes students on issues such as gender inclusion and environment by holding seminars on the relevant topics like women empowerment, Celebration of women’s day. For the holistic development of students, glowing tributes to soldiers, birth and death anniversaries of great leaders and freedom fighters, etc are organized.   • Gandhi Vichar Manch:

The main objective of such program is to develop ethical values of life and holistic development as stated by Mahatma Gandhi.

  • Literary Association:

All the departments of the college have their own association to develop the Co-curricular activities and provide a platform to the students to participate in the activities like group discussion, mock interview, elocution contest, essay writing etc.

  • Eco Club (EC):

Eco Club of the college instills charity mind among all the students. Under the Eco club Eco-friendly environmental activities are conducted, like environmental pollution, waste management, save water, clean and green etc., are conducted for their future career.

  • Nature Club:

Under the Nature club, the students are encouraged to plant and maintain the trees to reduce pollution and to improve green ambience in nearby villages. To develop the self-help employment opportunities among the students, various club programs conducted like Nursery Development, Soil and Water testing in association with chemistry department. College has been celebrating ‘Van Mahotsav’ with the support of the staff and the local forest department.

  • Career guidance:

To develop the employment opportunities among the students, various activities like competitive Examination guidance, Personality development, soft skill development and Tailoring training programs were conducted.

  • Farmers guidance center:

College established farmers’ guidance center to guide the farmers about quality of soil and aware about the use of bio-fertilizer and avoid the use of chemicals in agriculture.Organized farmer’s workshop about soil testing and mango cultivation.

  • Communication center:

Communication between the College and family is consistent, relevant, and transparent. College publishes news letter, ‘MJM Varta’ every month to communicate the activities of the college with students and community. College advocates parents to play an integral role in assisting student learning as well as their growth and development. Parents and teacher meets are held in college to discuss the issues of students. Principal and other members of the college committee invite parents to participate in most of the college activities. Parents have representations in the college committees. College recognizes family and community involvement in a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities.

By the above extension activities and social responsibilities, students are well trained for the contribution of good citizenship, service orientation and holistic development of students.
