1.📌 About N.S.S (National Service Scheme)

The sole aim of the National Service Scheme (NSS) is to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.

1.NSS is an excellent example of academic growth.
2.It embodies the idea of students and instructors working voluntarily to maintain community engagement.
3.It closes the gap between academic institutions and society.
4.It demonstrates how to use knowledge and action together to produce the desired outcomes for community development.

2.📌 Importance of NSS Badge

All the youth volunteers who opt to serve the nation through the N.S.S-led community service wear the NSS badge with pride and a sense of responsibility towards helping the needy.

1.The Konark Wheel in the NSS badge has 8 bars signifying the 24 hours of the day, reminding the wearer to be ready for the service of the nation at all times.
2.Red color in the badge signifies energy and spirit displayed by the NSS volunteers.
3.Blue color represents the cosmos, symbolizing that NSS is a tiny part ready to contribute to mankind's welfare.

3.🎯 Objectives of NSS

1.To gain an understanding of the community where the volunteers serve.
2.To comprehend oneself in relation to the neighborhood one lives in.
3.To become aware of the needs and issues in their neighborhood and get involved in solving them.
4.To foster a sense of social responsibility and civic duty among volunteers.
5.To use their expertise by coming up with solutions for both private and public issues.
6.To develop skills necessary for teamwork and shared responsibilities.
7.To enhance abilities in community engagement and mobilization.
8.To develop leadership skills and a democratic mindset.
9.To increase capacity for handling natural disasters and emergencies.
10.To actively promote social harmony and national unity.

5.📌 N.S.S Activities

Activities of NSS are divided into two major groups:
